How to Peel and Chop Garlic

You can peel garlic a number of ways but the easiest way is by slightly crushing it with the blade of a cook or chef’s knife.

Place the blade on its side over the top of the clove, and using the palm of your hand, press till you hear the clove pop.

Then using your fingers, peel away the skin from the slightly broken raw clove.

Now take a chef or cooks knife and hold the handle with one hand and the point with the fingers of you other hand, then gradually rock the knife backwards and forwards over the garlic bringing the pieces into the centre periodically till it’s chopped as required, according to your recipe.
