How to Marinate Meat

Marinate means to coat or immerse foods in an acidic-based liquid or dry rub, to tenderize and flavour before cooking. Meat can be marinated in a marinade for a few hours or up to days before cooking to both tenderize and acentuate the flavour before it is cooked.

Marinades come in all varieties but usually consist of an acid and an oil mixted together with seasonings such as herbs and spices and salt and pepper.

This method for marinating in a zip lock bag is both clean and effective and there's less washing up afterwards.
