How to Diagonally Slice Round Vegetables

Turn the vegetable on a slight angle on your board, then steady it with one hand, and taking a cook or chef’s knife in your working hand, gradually bring the knife blade through the vegetable on an angle to create longish flat slices.
 
Any rounded vegetable sliced whole can be sliced this way.
 
The thickness of the slices will depend on the end use of the sliced vegetable.
