How to Deseed Chilli
As the seeds are the hottest part of a chilli, removing them may lessen the heat of th dish they are to be used for.
The technique is simple enough albeit can be fiddly if the chilli is small.
In this demonstration a cooks knife is being used by an experienced chef. If you are not adept at using such a large knife, try it with a paring knife instead.
And although this chef is not doing so, be sure to wear disposable gloves when deseeding or in fact doing anything with chillies, as the juices in the skin and seeds can linger of fingers and hands for hours and if eyes, nose or worse, other delicate areas of the body are touched with it, it can be quite painful.
