How to Cube and Dice

Cubes and dice are the same cut, only the size differs. Cubes being larger than dice. Basically cubing and dicing are cutting foods into pieces with 6 equal sides. Both cubes and dice are easier to create if the ingredient is s uniform shape to begin with.

You can achieve this by...

  • Cutting off the sides and ends to obtain a square or oblong shape.
  • Now cut the ingredient into slices, each slice being the thickness of the cube or dice you want to create.
  • Then cut each slice into batons, known as batonnet.
  • Now turn the batonnet perpendicular to your knife and cut those into cubes.
  • You can do this with single slices or, layer the slices on top of ach other and do several together.
